NQ64 Staff Create Themed Cocktails For Brand New Menu

NQ64 gaming bars are striking – immersing players in impressive neon, graffiti art from floor to ceiling. When it comes to gaming NQ64 locations are the place to be. Stacked with vintage, retro arcade games as well as classic consoles.

NQ64 beautifully partner their epic gaming experience with a bar offering creative, themed cocktails. However, they have recently run an employee cocktail design competition – searching for tasty concoctions to put on a new cocktail menu, which tie in with their gaming offering.

Staff from all seven NQ64 venues took part, from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. The winning drink was:

Bowser Breezer – with inspiration from Super Mario Bros, Manchester team member Ben combined Bacardi Rum, watermelon, ginger and Vimto.

  • Dr RoBevNik – created by Manchester’s General Manager, Joel, this blend is a nod to SEGAs Sonic the Hegehog and features Jack Daniel’s & Cherry Bourbon blend, Dr Pepper syrup and cherry, served on the rocks.
  • Aku Aku Fruit Punch – will transport you to Crash Bandicoot’s tropical Wumpa Islands by uniting Plantation Pineapple Rum, Mount Gay Eclipse, peach, banana, apple and Refresher syrups. This treat was created by specialist Drinks Trainer, James.
  • Metropolis – taking it’s name from the 80’s classic arcade game, this shimmering tipple is made from Beefeater Gin, Aperol, Cranberry and Glitter.
  • Special Cup – sure to be a favourite with Mario Kart fans, this winning cocktail includes Strawberry Liqueur, Aperol and Sweet Vermouth, Hooch and soda.

The new menu made its debut at the grand opening of the new NQ64 in Glasgow’s Merchant City last month. It is also now available in all NQ64 venues across the country. NQ64 bars also stock a good range of beer, wine and other alcopops.

You don’t need to pay to come in to an NQ64, to enjoy the good vibes and excellent drinks. However, once that urge to hop on the Dance Stage takes over, you can purchase tokens from the bar.
