There is a fondness about a good old Aussie / Pom rivalry. Whether it be over a game of cricket, who makes the best beer or whether having Christmas on a beach in the sunshine is just wrong. Now Australia gets to enjoy another great British export, Flight Club.
Working in partnership with Capitol Corp, Flight Club secured the old Mainpeak two-storey retail store at 383 Murray Street in Perth. Recently, the Chairman of Capitol Corp, David Heaton, announced that the new site would be opening in December, this year. He also said that he’d had a Flight Club Oche installed in the Capitol Corp office – brilliant.
The new venue is planned to house 14 Oches (semi-private playing booths – pronounced like hockey without the ‘h’) which can each seat up to 15 guests.
Flight Club is a complete reinvention of darts down the pub. Each unique venue is designed to be a feast for the eyes. With the lure of a traditional country pub but with quirky hipster décor and fairground ambient lighting.
Through the use of clever technology, Flight Club uses cameras to track each dart. This means that their system is able to keep score and provide instant feedback on your game play. This fast, paced approach, along with a range of competitive games darts games to play, has injected the game of darts with energy. This tangible atmosphere hits you from the moment you arrive, making it a really great place for a night out.
Flight Club pride themselves on being first and foremost an excellent bar. With expansive cocktail bars supported by a high-end food offering, which has an emphasis on sharing, Flight Club has been carefully curated to ensure young and old thrill seekers are not disappointed. Even if you don’t want to play darts you’ll have a wonderful time propping up the bar soaking up the ambience.
Flight Club is operated by the hugely successful Red Engine Team, headed by Steve Moore and Paul Barham. Flight Club currently have six UK venues in Shoreditch, Victoria, Bloomsbury, Islington, Birmingham and Manchester. Flight Club Leeds is opening on the 25th June whilst Flight Club Bristol is launching on 30th July.
Flight Club USA, operated by State of Play Hospitality, has sites in Chicago and Boston with a third site in Las Vegas set to open in Spring 2022.
