Swingers feels like a wistful stroll along a 1920’s seaside beach front. A place where pretty cotton umbrellas and pink striped boater hats would not be out of place.
Although the décor conjures up this quintessentially English ambience the vibe at Swingers is much more lively. Offering gorgeous bespoke cocktails, exceptional street food, innovative crazy golf courses and DJs, Swingers is a great place for a proper night out.
Having started out as a London pop-up in 2014 Swingers has expanded. In 2016 founders Matt Grech-Smith and Jeremy Simmonds, opened the first permanent site, City, London. In 2018 they transformed the former BHS flagship store into Swingers, Oxford Circus.
In June 2021 Swingers opened their first US site in Washington DC’s Dupont Circle district. In early 2022, New York will be opening and now they have announced a third US site. The hope is to open a second site in Washington DC in the summer of 2022. This venue will be located in the Navy Yard neighbourhood.
Swingers Navy Yard will occupy the lower floors of The Kelvin, luxury apartment building, situated in the popular Ballpark District on Washington DC. This incredible site is a stones throw away from the entrance to Washington Nationals park, home to the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball. Swingers will occupy over 24,000 square feet, over two floors plus a 750 sq ft outdoor terrace. This exceptional venue will offer two, nine-hole crazy golf courses, multiple cocktail bars as well as the best street food offerings available in the city.
It is expected that Swingers Navy Yard will feature all the usual crazy golf highlights including big ferris wheels, windmills and carousels. Each hole will challenge different skills and there will be crafty creations to challenge even the most seasoned crazy golfers.
Matt Grech Smith announced, “We’re excited to break ground on our third US location in DC’s Ballpark District after seeing overwhelming support from the community at our Dupont Circle venue. Swingers Navy Yard is the perfect fit for a neighborhood known for its love of sports and entertainment and we look forward to opening our doors to the public next summer.”
