State of Play Hospitality: Enhancing the Definition of Fun

28th March 2021

You’ve heard of Bounce and Flight Club (USA)? These brands have been operated by Social Entertainment Ventures (SEV), Flight Club in the US under licence from Red Engine. During the pause in business, caused by a global pandemic, SEV have rebranded and relaunched as State of Play Hospitality, focusing on creative, technology driven experiential leisure concepts.

The company said: “It became clear during the renaming project that the connective tissue across the business was the desire to bring people together in a ‘state of play’.”

The reimagining of the brand has also led to a change in leadership. Strahan Wilson has been brought in as Chief Financial Officer having spent the last four years with Cote Restaurants.  Wilson will join the team from April 2021 working with Chief Executive Toby Harris on the company’s growth strategy in the UK and in the US.

Wilson said: “I’m really looking forward to joining Toby and the team. State of Play has pioneered the experiential hospitality market for many years and their concepts are world class. It’s a tremendous platform for growth and I look forward to playing my part in scaling the business both within the UK and US.”

State of Play is the home of Bounce, Ace Bounce, Flight Club, Puttshack and new venture Hijingo.  Hijingo will launch in Shoreditch, London during 2021 and is set to revolutionise the game of bingo. The emphasis of the concept is on high spec production, theatrical visuals providing a high energy experience.

With State of Play making such positive moves, as we manoeuvre out of lockdown, 2021 is shaping up to be a great year for innovation and growth in the Social Play arena.
