Having opened as a pop-up at Old Street Station, in November 2017, OTHERWORLD moved to its current permanent location, Haggerston, East London in 2019. Now this incredibly successful VR experience has raised £2.9m from leading venture capital funds to allow for further expansion.
OTHERWORLD has signed leases for prime sites in London Victoria and Birmingham, which are set to open this summer. The funding will also allow the OTHERWORLD team to open sites in Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow in the coming year. This acclaimed experience also have their sights set on international locations and are currently looking for franchise partners in the US and Germany.
When it comes to technology OTHERWORLD excels. Their Immersion RoomTM technology creates heat, wind and rumble effects in real-time, giving players a completely sensory experience.
Each customer plays from within their own Immersion Room, however you can still see and hear the friends you’re playing with … as if they were standing right beside you. Together you roam the VR island playing through the 14 experiences available. The activities are grouped into seasons, so first time VR players can find their VR legs playing in the Spring, whilst experienced gamers can battle it out in the Winter stories. When you’re ready to try a new game simply head over to the World Tree, at the centre of the island, and see what new adventures await.
No doubt after your explorations and gaming you’ll be exhausted, so why not head to the onsite bar. With pizza, cocktails and beer available you’ll have everything you need to regain your strength and debrief your team.
