Greene King Pubs Celebrate Boost in Pub Ownership Requests

11th March 2021

As the country claws its way out from under the grips of the Covid-19 pandemic the hospitality industry remains defiant. Despite the considerable pain and hardship of the last year Greene King Pubs have received its highest ever number of new applications to become pub tenants.

“It’s really uplifting to see that people’s passion for running their own pub has not been daunted by recent events,” says Chris Thorogood, Greene King Pub Partners recruitment manager.

Following an update to their recruitment website the group received 108 new applications between 24th March and 22nd June, more than double the number who applied during the same period in 2019.

Greene King Pubs currently have over 800 local pubs sat at the heart of communities across the country. They specialise in creating unique pub venues, which reflect their local community and offer a welcoming, familiar venue for food, drinks and fun with the family.

Not one to be left behind, Greene King Pubs Partnership, have an increasing number of establishments offering competitive socialising in their Greene Rooms.  Shuffleboards are available in multiple venues including Barlow Croft East DidsburyFour Seasons Basildon and The Stoke in Guildford.  Whilst Thieves Kitchen in Worthing are fully embracing the opportunities with their two 18ft shuffleboards, table football, pinball, smart darts as well as pool.

Hopefully we’ll see these business boosting concepts continue to pop up in our local pubs.
