Ghetto Golf Putting Spectacular Adult-Only Mini Golf Into Glasgow

9th June 2021

Ghetto Golf is synonymous with wildly creative and wacky themed crazy golf holes, neon graffiti art, cocktails, street food and funky tunes. Now this fabulously blended night out is coming to Glasgow.

Ghetto Golf is part of a broader creative endeavour run by Big Fang Collective. The Glasgow site, Golf Fang, will be Big Fang’s first collective venue, offering Ghetto Golf, Birdees Bar and Food Court, a unique twist on karaoke and other venues. Golf Fang will celebrate Scottish food whilst drawing together local creatives and artists to form this unique collective, designed to shine a light on great street food, music and art.

What will the crazy golf be like?

The enormous 40,000 sq ft venue is located on Lancefield Street in the centre of Glasgow. With a capacity for up to 400 people, the unique 18-hole crazy-golf course will delight guests with its distinct Glaswegian design and feel.

The Golf Fang creative team have their work cut out ensuring that each hole has a unmistakable theme, reflecting the most recognisable and iconic landmarks and features of Glasgow. You’ll even be able to walk through a miniature replica of the famous Old College Bar, thought to be one of the oldest pubs in the city.

Martin Hennigan, Head of Production, who is currently working on the installation of the new venue, said: “It’s a staple of our venues that we honour a local pub that’s well-known in the city. For Glasgow, we selected the Old College Bar as we loved the story of how it claimed to be the oldest pub in the city – but really it wasn’t. It’s a bit cheeky and we can definitely relate to that.

“The Old College Bar was obviously a bit of an institution in Glasgow and was fondly viewed upon. We heard that it’s shut permanently now which is a real shame, but we like to think it will raise a smile when people see our tribute on the course.”

But don’t worry, there will still be that distinctive Ghetto Golf vibe with neon painted graffiti street art, just this time it’ll be accompanied by a giant hamster cage and a bouncy castle.

When can I go to Golf Fang / Ghetto Golf?

Quite frankly, we don’t know. Word is that it’ll be July, but online bookings are not yet open. As soon as we know, we’ll let you know.
