“Game of Throwing” Axe Throwing Opening Four Target Locations

27th May 2021

Urban axe throwing franchise Game of Throwing are set to open three brand new locations this Friday – 28th May: Hull, Newcastle and Plymouth. With a fourth site in Chelmsford opening on 2nd June.

Axe throwing is epically fun. The perfect antidote to a stressful week. Now, this joy and release is being spread across the country by Game of Throwing, the latest venture from Edinburgh based company, Escape – one of the world’s largest operators of escape rooms.

Suitable for anyone over the age of 10, Game of Throwing can be booked for groups of up to six people. Each group have their own designated enclosed lane or lanes and a throwing coach, AKA The Axemaster, who will make sure you have the best time, whilst staying totally safe.

 How Does Axe Throwing Work?

Axe throwing is kind of like darts but you’re throwing axes at larger targets. The board has concentric rings and dots (bullseye and killshots) which determine how many points you get– assuming you actually hit the target.

At 12 feet away from the target you hurl your axe at the target and hope for the best. The Axemaster will help you with the right technique and before long it’ll be a race to see who gets the first bullseye.

Timber Vault Plymouth

Game of Throwing Plymouth is situated within the newly developed TimberVault Family Entertainment Centre. Located on Derrys Cross, TimberVault offers five axe throwing lanes, escape rooms and the Lumberjack café, making it a great place to try something different this summer.

How to Get Booked in

You can make a booking for each venue via their website. Currently a 75 minute session costs adults £20 and 10-16 year olds £15 each – this includes your 15 minute safety briefing and training.

So what are you waiting for? Get the kids doing something ridiculously fun this half term!
