16th March 2022

It’s all the rage these days, transforming town centre, former department stores into vibrant, energetic palaces of play.

Elite Leisure Collection have announced that they are going to be remodelling the former BHS site, in Tunbridge Wells town centre into a state-of-the-art family entertainment centre.

Spread over three floors will be a host of exhilarating activities.

One of the key attractions will be a 230m go kart track. Utilising the latest technology, eight racers will compete on in the eco-friendly electric go karts on a track which traverses two floors.

The Tunbridge Wells complex will also house a bowling alley, cinema, laser tag, mini golf and virtual reality arcade.

At a cost of around £9million, it is hoped that this brilliant concept will attract over 1.5million visitors to the town centre every year.

The, as yet un-named venture, will be open from 10am until midnight every day, and will be serving up a range of food and drinks options to keep you fuelled up for the immense of fun you’re going to be having.

Cllr Tom Dawlings said, “The plans for leisure activities in the former BHS store in the precinct are particularly exciting providing go karts, cinema, bowling, mini golf, laser tag and a state-of-the-art arcade.

“This will be something for the younger age groups well into the late evening.  It will provide a further boost to the top of the town, alongside the opening of the Amelia Scott, the plans for co-working in the Town Hall, the acquisition of the derelict old cinema site and increasing interest in many of the vacant former retail premises.”

The development is unlikely to be completed until 2023, but as soon as we have further details, we’ll be letting you know!
