It might be about to get wet and wild with Autumn now in full flow but that’s nothing compared to the exciting adventures that await this November – Alcotraz, famous for their incredible, immersive theatrical cocktail bar experiences, have opened their flagship site in London.

This will be Alcotraz’ largest cocktail penitentiary, having already opened up four venues across the UK.

If you’ve never been to an Alcotraz then you’re missing out on a bonkers night out. The venue is a prison (an impressive theatrical set) with three large Cell Blocks, each offering a unique experience and storyline. Across the site there are 30 individual cells and seven secret rooms. If you’re particularly naughty you might find yourself hauled into the Warden’s Office or sent to Solitary Confinement!

Before arrival guests are contacted by the serving inmates, members of a notorious bootlegging gang looking for new recruits. Then once on the premises you’ll climb into your standard issue orange jumpsuit and be led away to the cells.

There’s no booze provided so it’s up to you and your fellow inmates to smuggle drinks in. But you’ll need to outsmart the guards and avoid detection by The Warden. If you’re successful, then the long-serving inmates (the talented Alcotraz actors) will use their expert mixology skills to rustle you up tasty cocktails.

This new venue will replace the existing Shoreditch site. Located on Hackney Road the expansive new Alcotraz can cater for up to 180 guests and offers brand new storylines.

Alcotraz is a hilarious way to spend an evening if you love a bit of role play, fancy being disciplined in the Interrogation Room, and enjoy a cocktail or two. As you can imagine Alcotraz is a firm favourite with hens, stags, parties and companies with a sense of humour.

Alcotraz brings to life a fictional world. With subtle references to cult American entertainment, such as Prison Break, Orange is the New Black and Shawshank Redemption, guests have the opportunity to experience a fictitious narrative unfold around them which they would only normally see on TV or cinema screens.

Sam Shearman, creator of Alcotraz and founder of Inventive Productions says, “We cannot wait to open Alcotraz in London this November. After five years of developing the Alcotraz brand and opening venues across the country, it feels incredible to put the focus back on London, the city where it all started, and launch a truly incredible flagship venue. This will be our biggest project yet and offers scope to expand our storylines and offer an ever-increasing unique experience to guests. We are also truly excited about the charity partnerships that we have on the horizon which will help raise awareness of real-life issues within the justice system and provide support to a fantastic UK charity.”

Full details of their charity partnership will be announced ahead of the launch.
